TOHAMO is an unincorporated association whose members (the “Members”) are: The Medical Staff (“Medical Staff”) of The Ottawa Hospital as represented by Ottawa Hospital Physician Associates Inc. (“OHPA”). The University of Ottawa (“the University”) and The Ottawa Hospital (“the Hospital”) are co-signatories to the agreement.  The Members are concerned with the provision of clinical services, medical education and basic and applied health research for the population served by the Academic Health Science Center (“the “AHSC”).

TOHAMO exists to establish policies and procedures that enable the delivery of clinical service, health education and research under the Agreement to Establish Alternative Funding (the “AFP Agreement”) between the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care (the “Ministry”) and the Members of TOHAMO; to establish policies with regard to the allocation of resources as defined in the AFP Agreement on behalf of the Members; to oversee the implementation of the AFP Agreement; to monitor the ongoing effectiveness of activities within the scope of the AFP Agreement; and, other matters which relates to the AFP Agreement.

TOHAMO is governed by an elected Board of Directors, with representation from The Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa and is supported by an Executive Director and Administrative Assistant.
